| Affordable handheld radios and accessories from www.handyradio.co.uk One of my favorite radios, the Yaesu VX-7R is a very capable little radio. After a year's regular use I think very highly of this model. I much prefer this to the FT-60E which I had prior to the VX-7R. I have not put it under water (yet) just for a demonstration but I have used it in light rain and no problem at all. Only if it had 6.25k step I would be even happier. |

| A comparison of two ham radios that were my top picks for emergency preparedness. The VX-7R is the better radio, but the VX-8GR meets my radio needs and has more functionality. The built in GPS and TNC modem allow for APRS beaconing and messaging, which is extremely important to me. It allows me to carry less electronic equipment in my personal and professional duties. |
